Yahoo’s inability to attract more Internet users and online advertisers outside the U.S. is one reason why the performance of Yahoo is not as strong as Google.
Yahoo Chief Executive Officer Carol Bartz disclose which countries are the strengths and weaknesses of Yahoo. Previously, Bartz also announced a quarter that showed the best performance since his leadership Yahoo last year.
“In an international scale, I am most happy to see the development of Yahoo in Asia. Where we have market share and penetration big enough,” Bartz said via conference call interviews with analysts.
“But with a heavy heart I must say also that Germany is the country where Yahoo can not thrive. There is a long history of development behind Yahoo in there,” Bartz said again.
Bartz also added that Spain is a country other than Germany are also not showing enough good progress for Yahoo.
So any country that would become the center of attention Yahoo to prosper? Bartz ensure that Yahoo would focus on areas with a large Internet users population.
“Indonesia, India, Brazil, Mexico are the countries which became the focus of our expansion. Also some other internet market share of smaller such as Vietnam. We have a strong penetration in these areas,” explained Bartz.
And also, Bartz said the mobile internet users is very important to be the focus of expansion Yahoo.
